A couple weeks ago, we were invited by PokerStars to cover their flagship event: the 2016 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA), at Paradise Island in the Bahamas. They rolled out the red carpet for us and gave us access to the world’s top poker pros for meet and greet sessions as well as some great interviews. Notably, this was the first live event we’ve covered here at PokerUpdate, so we were naturally quite excited to get our feet wet (yes, we are also referring to the Lazy River ride at the Atlantis Resort).

Have a look below at some of the snapshots from our time at the PCA, so you can join us in reliving the experience of having all that great poker fun.

PCA touch screens

It’s pretty cool when a poker festival takes over an entire hotel/resort complex. Screens like the ones you see were positioned throughout the Atlantis complex.

3 on 3 basketball tournament with Jason Mercier

Jason Mercier – who we interviewed – hosted a special basketball tournament as part of the StarsFun activities.

atari at PCA

Poker wasn’t the only game being played at the PCA; there was plenty of Atari gaming fun to be had in the Player’s Lounge.

BlackjackTournament

If the deck wasn’t treating you well at the poker tables, PokerStars also offered a $100K GTD Blackjack tournament for the first time. With a reported $40K+ overlay, you were certainly getting your money in good there!

High Stakes Cash Games

Don’t let the empty seats fool you. The picture was taken in the morning. After nightfall, the action was hot and heavy at the high stakes cash game tables.

Poker Pros signing shirt

Beyond interviewing members of PokerStars Team PRO, they were kind enough to sign our PokerUpdate shirt #ForTheFans

PCA Champions

Behind those doors, the path continued towards the main tournament area. You’re quite literally surrounded by poker champions!

PCA Trophies

Besides all the money, this hardware is what poker players want to win at the PCA

PCA TV Table

Like all poker fans, we love watching poker on TV. It’s pretty cool to see how it gets produced, behind the scenes, especially with Chris Moneymaker on the set (oh yeah, we interviewed him, too).

Barry Greenstein

I got to meet and interview Poker Hall of Famer Barry Greenstein. Contrary to persistent rumors, no, we didn’t coordinate our choice of shirt color that day.

Daniel Negreanu

That moment when your poker hero, Daniel Negreanu, invites you up to his room to interview him… No Photoshop here, folks. This really happened!

Ronaldo PCA 2016

It’s not every day that you get to meet and interview football legend, Ronaldo!

As you can see, we had a heck of a lot of fun, and interviewed a heck of a lot of people while we were at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. If all those pictured brought a smile to your face, you can only imagine how exciting it was to be there in person. We highly recommend that at some point down the line, you make the effort to take a poker vacation to the PCA. You certainly won’t regret it, and maybe we’ll even see you there next year!
