Viacheslav Zhukov, a 22-year-old professional poker player from Stary Oskol, Russia, defeated a field of 202 players replete with stars to win the $10,000 Omaha High-Low Split Championship today, taking home $465,216 in winnings.
Zhukov only took up poker professionally last year after graduating from Moscow Mining University with a degree in geology.
Zhukov’s win (and first cash) came in his first WSOP event. The Omaha High-Low Split is considered one of the toughest fields in the tournament.
