The eagerly anticipated IveyPoker, which is expected to launch later this month, has added Daniel Shak to its growing roster of pros.
“I have always insisted that poker is a hobby for me and have consistently turned down any business offers related to it. But whe’n Phil asked me if I wanted to join Team Ivey, I was more than prepared to make an exception,” Shak said in a statement on IveyPoker.
“Phil is not only a good friend, but also the best poker player in the world if you ask me. So it is an honour to be part of this team and everything that it represents. Another reason I accepted to sign was the education aspect of poker and I feel that I may have something useful to give back to the community,” he added.
Shak recently final tabled the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $100,000 Super High Roller, finishing eighth for $228,960. He defeated Phil Ivey heads up in the 2010 Aussie Millions Poker Championship $100,000 Event for $1,107,553. Shak has $4,000,000 in lifetime tournament winnings.
IveyPoker.com now has 18 pros on its roster, including Jennifer Harman, Greg Merson, Cole South, Patrik Antonius, James Dempsey, and Ivey himself. The site is in the latter stages of development and is expected to be up and running by the end of the month.
