Sam Stein Wins, Closes in on POY Lead

Sam Stein has won event no. 31 at the WSOP, the $3,000 pot-limit Omaha tournament, by defeating a field of 685 other players. He was awarded $420,802 in prize money.

Stein has been one of the winningest players in poker the past two years, taking home almost $4 million in earnings. He finished 3rd at the $10,000 pot-limit hold’ em championship and made the final table at the Poker Stars Caribbean main event, for which he earned $1 million.

Stein is now in second place in the Card Player player of the year standings, and he is only four points away from first.
