Low-stakes players looking for value in tournament prize pools will find it Sunday, June 16 at 13:00 ET when PokerStars will host the biggest tournament in poker history that promises an overlay of at least $75,000.
Aiming to break its own record of 200,000 players entered in a tournament, Sunday’s event requires only a $1 buy-in and is capped at 225,000 entrants. The last player standing with all the chips will receive $25,000, a ROI of monumental proportions.
The World Record Tournament is part of PokerStars “Road to 100 Billion” promotion that is giving away $5 million to celebrate 100,000,000,000 hands dealt at the site since its launch in September 2001. The cash bonuses have been ongoing this month and include payouts to winners of milestone hands that began at 99,700,000,000 last Saturday and each one millionth hand thereafter.
PokerStars has now announced that the big milestone hand of 100 billion will be hit between 13:00 and 19:00 ET on Thursday, June 13. A total of $1 million will be paid out on the mega milestone hand, with at least $100,000 going to the winner and the rest divvied up among tablemates of the lucky winner and players competing at the same stake level and game type.
