Love him or hate him, one has to marvel at the skills displayed by Phil Hellmuth on the poker table. Those skills have now expanded to include Open Face Chinese Poker, as the “Poker Brat” edged out a field of 21 to capture the title in the EPT London £2000 + £200 OFC unlimited re-entry event.
While its not a WSOP gold bracelet to add to his global-leading total of 13, Hellmuth did add £15,800 to his career winnings in his first cash ever on the European Poker Tour. The final table included fellow Poker Hall-of-Famer Barry Greenstein, who finished fifth and almost doubled the buy-in by pocketing £4,050.
The Poker Brat expressed his delight at winning the EPT OFC tourney, tweeting, “21 players and $23,000 for first so I’m happy!”
