The first event, a $215 No Limit Hold’Em tournament, was cancelled after an initial 45 minute delay. The tournament had a guaranteed prize pool of $350,000 with a massive overlay. The network subsequently cancelled four more events after experiencing more technical problems with the software.
The Party Poker Network immediately offered an apology for the technical difficulties and refunded the entry fees for the first five events. In addition to the apology, the network will host two free rolls over the next two Sundays that will allow players to win $15,000 worth of entries to the Pokerfest events. There has also been some rescheduling of events and the whole series will feature a massive 61 tournaments.
The Pokerfest Event #6, a $530 tournament with a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool, was held on Sunday and went smoothly after an initial pause.
The generally popular tournament series has also been experiencing overlays that have ranged from $500 to amounts in the thousands. The tournament entries have not been reaching the guarantees.
