Viktor “Isildur1” Blom loves swings and swings love Viktor “Isildur1” Blom!
The Swedish Full Tilt Pro had an insane start of the month and cashed in big almost every time he sat at a poker table. And now he is once again back on track and ready to challenge Ben “Bttech86” Tollerene as the biggest winner of 2013. Only in the last 6 days, Blom won over $1 million, in 142 sessions and over 9K hands. Since the start of October, the player known as “Isildur1” cashed in almost $1.8 million in 226 sessions and over 16K hands.
Most of the earnings came from playing big bet No-Limit Hold’Em ($866,156) and one of the swingiest games in the poker world, 2-7 Triple Draw ($885,794). Even the biggest pot of the month, so far, was won by the Swedish player. In a No-Limit Hold’Em Heads-Up game against Alex “IReadYrSoul” Millar, he flopped two pair and smooth called two streets before overbet-jamming the river. His opponent called the $132,000 bet on the river only to see a $285,000 pot being taken away from him.
Gus Hansen is the next big winner of the last 11 days. He won over $400,000 in 8,736 hands, including over $300,000 while playing Omaha Hi-Lo. However, Hansen still has a long way to go to rebound from the huge losses that came earlier this year. Overall, in 2013, he is one of the biggest losers in the online poker world, with almost $3.7 million lost in 138K hands.
At the bottom of the leaderboard sit three of the best poker players in the world: Phil Ivey, Phil Galfond and Tom Dwan. Phil “Polarizing” Ivey lost over $460K this month in 68 sessions and 4,555 hands. He has had one of the worst years in his poker career, so far, losing over $2.4 million in 76K hands and everyone wonders if he just lost his poker touch.
Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond is another big name who got off to a terrible start in October. He lost over $450,000, mainly because of the Triple Draw games and “Isildur1.” While sitting at the Draw tables, he played 1,852 hands and lost over $420K.
Tom “durrrr” Dwan seems to have no luck these days, whether we talk about online or live play. Dwan gave away almost $300,000 at the online poker tables. He lost almost $240K while playing the game that made him rich and famous: No-Limit Hold’Em. Not even the live game helped “durrrr,” who complained last month about “the biggest loss ever,” in one day, on his Twitter account. Many say that has something to do with a 7-figure number…on the red side. Which could it be?
