Neteller to sponsor PokerStars’ Italian Poker Tour

Optimal Payments’ subsidiary Neteller has signed an agreement to sponsor the current Italian Poker Tour (IPT) which got underway on Saturday.

The company, one of the largest electronic payment processor in the world, will sponsor the first leg of the new IPT season, which runs through to June 17 in San Marino, and will cover all five legs through to the tournament’s conclusion in December.

As part of its sponsorship, Neteller, which offers payment solutions for online gaming operators, has launched two initiatives targeting the players who will take part in the IPT Main Event.

The first initiative is aimed at players who already have a Neteller Account, or who plan to activate one for the tournament, and who will be wearing the Neteller patch during the event. Whichever one of those players places highest at the end of the tournament will be awarded a buy-in for the next IPT.

The second initiative will reward the unluckiest player in the Main Event, the so-called “bubble boy”, who is the last player excluded from the prize zone. That player will receive a cheque for €1000 from Neteller.

Lorenzo Pellegrino, Vice President of Optimal Payments, said, “We are excited to sponsor a series of events like the IPT, and to provide our support. For many years, Neteller has been offering a system of services able to meet the needs of operators and users in the gaming industry.”

Luca Pagano, head of the Pagano Group, which is running the IPT alongside PokerStars, said the tour was “honoured” to have Neteller as its partner.

“At the same time, we are sure that this collaboration will offer the players a great advantage for their money transactions, thanks to the excellent Neteller payment account and the Net+ Prepaid MasterCard, as well various promotions which will be offered at each stage of the Italian Poker Tour,” he added.

Optimal Payments was founded in 1999 to provide secure online payment services for businesses and individuals.
