Ivey, Trickett and Hachem Named Captains for Caesar's Cup

The first edition of the “World Series of Poker Asia Pacific” will take place in two weeks in an attempt to take the WSOP brand around the world. The tournament series will feature many events including a Main Event and the popular Caesar’s Cup.

The Caesar’s Cup has become a popular event given its competition among the top players from respective regions such as the United States and Europe. This year’s edition will have feature three teams: Team America, Team Europe, and Team Asia.

The teams will consist of one captain and four other players who will battle until a final Heads-Up match to determine the champion. The respective captains are in charge of selecting their team’s members. The Caesar’s Cup teams will be headed by Phil Ivey, Sam Trickett, and Joe Hachem.

Ivey will be the head of Team America, which in previous editions had players like Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu as captains. On the other hand, Trickett will be in charge of selecting the players for Team Europe like Annette Obrestad and Bertrand Grospellier did before. Finally, Hachem will command the inaugural Team Asia.

The Caesar’s Cup plans to bring the same type of excitement and solid play from the top professionals in the world. The WSOP Asia will be held from April 4 – 15, 2013.
