Greg Raymer Arrested in Prostitution Sting

World Series of Poker Champion Greg Raymer was one of six men arrested in a prostitution sting in Wake Forest, North Carolina.  

The 2004 Main Event Champion contacted a prostitution advertisement posted by an undercover police officer. According to the Wake Forest Police Department, the police operation was set up as the prostituion sting in an attempt to catch men soliciting paid sexual activities. Six men, including a high profile attorney and Raymer, attempted to solicit services from a supposed female prostitute through the online advertisement on a website called backpage.com.

According to Bill Crabtree of the Wake Forest Police Department Information Services, “Six men were arrested in separate incidences at the Wake Forest Hotel. Each men were not guests of the hotel. The six men were attempting to solicit services from a female prostitute”

A $1,000 bond has also been set for the six men and a trial has been set for April 18, 2013.

Recently, the Fossilman made an unbelievable run in the Heartland Poker Tour with an unprecedented four victories in one year. In addition to his success at the tables, Raymer has been an avid spokesperson for the poker community and has worked for advocacy groups such as the Poker Players Alliance. His kindness and respectful nature on and off the poker tables have brought him some popularity within the community as well.

Greg Raymer has been married to his wife for several years.
