Full Tilt Poker is nearing its one month anniversary of being online since its much-heralded Nov. 6 relaunch. The site immediately jumped into second place in PokerScout’s player traffic rankings, the exact position it held prior to shutting down in late June of 2011. Full Tilt’s popularity is attributable to a number of reasons, such as the site software that many online players believe is the best in the business. Another explanation behind Full Tilt finding favor among players is the FTOPS tournament series.
FTOPS (Full Tilt Online Poker Series) began in August of 2006 and was held approximately every three months. FTOPS XXI, the first to be held since the relaunch, consists of 35 events that will begin on Sunday, Dec. 2 and run through Dec. 16 with a combined guaranteed prize pool of more than $7.5 million. Event #1 is a $200 + $16 No-Limit Hold’em Multi-Entry Tournament with $750,000 guaranteed and gets underway at 13:30 ET.
There are either two or three tourneys being hosted each day throughout the 15 days of the series. The lowest buy-in for FTOPS XXI is $100 + $9 and there are four of those events to choose from among the 35 tourneys. The most expensive of the tournaments is Event #31, a two-day $2,000 + $100 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em tournament that features an ante from start-to-finish and begins on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 11:00 ET, guaranteeing a $500,000 prize pool.
The Main Event kicks off on Sunday Dec. 16 at 13:30 ET as a No-Limit Hold’em Multi-Entry Tournament that guarantees $1.5 million and requires an entry fee of $600 + $40. There are a huge amount of satellites and steps tournaments running for those players hoping to enter the FTOPS XXI events at a small fraction of the buy-ins.
Each player who advances to the final table of any FTOPS XXI event will receive and can proudly wear a limited-edition FTOPS jacket. Winners of any FTOPS XXI event get the jacket as well as a gold FTOPS jersey and a special gold-jersey avatar to display on Full Tilt. The FTOPS XXI Leaderboard winner will receive an avatar and free entry to every event in the next FTOPS series, FTOPS XXII, except for the two-day tournament. That prize package is worth roughly $10,000.
Any player who finishes on the bubble in a FTOPS XXI tourney will win an entry to the Bouncebackability Freeroll that will award the winner with a ticket to the FTOPS XXII Main Event.
FTOPS XXI promises to uphold the excitement from series nos. I through XX that found favor with many online players. And it all begins on Sunday, Dec. 2, at Full Tilt Poker.
