Dane Wins WCOOP Main Event

After two days and 1,626 eliminations, Thomas ‘Kallllle’ Pedersen has won the 2011 World Championships of Online Poker (WCOOP) main event. The tournament had a $5,200 buy-in and a first-place prize of $1.26 million. The Czech Republic’s Vojtech ‘Vojta_R’ Ruzicka took second place and $710k, while Canadian Mike ‘goleafsgoeh’ Leah grabbed third and $560k.

This year’s WCOOP boasted more than $47 million in prize money over 62 events, with event champions representing 24 different countries. Spain’s Joel Adam “2FLY2TILT” Gordon took home Player-of-the-Series honours after winning a bracelet and cashing 10 times.
