Chris “Moorman1” Moorman, whose online achievements include winning over $9 million in multi-table tournaments and a Triple Crown, bested a field of 399 players to capture his first FTOPS championship.
Moorman took the title and $21,250 in FTOPS XXII Event #3, a Pot-Limit Omaha Rush tourney with a $216 buy-in. Following his victory, the Lock Poker pro attributed his success in the event to fellow pro Phil Galfond.
“Finally won an FTOPS! Of course it was in Rush PLO!!,” Moorman tweeted. “Thanks @PhilGalfond for those PLO videos I grind every night just before bed.”
Galfond responded via Twitter with a plug for his RunItOnce.com poker training site, tweeting, “@Moorman1 NP! Many people don’t realize that watching my videos is good luck.”
Event #3 provided players with an overlay as the just short of 400 entrants contributed $79,800 to a prize pool that Full Tilt had guaranteed for $85,000. Moorman defeated “Hudzzzzzz” in heads-up action to take the crown, with the runner-up scoring a payday of $13,175.
