Aussie Millions teams up with the Asia Pacific Poker Tour

The host of the 2014 Aussie Millions Championship, Crown Casino Melbourne, announced on Wednesday that the Main Event of the series will become part of the official Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT).

“The Aussie Millions is regarded as one of the marquee poker events globally and by aligning with the biggest poker tour in the region, the APPT, will further guarantee the event’s success in the coming year,” Crown Resort Chief Operating Officer Xavier Walsh said in a press statement.

The Aussie Millions Main Event will start on Sunday, the 2nd of February, 2014 and it is one of 20 events the Crown Casino will host in 2014. The buy-in for the tournament will be AUS$10,000.

“The Aussie Millions becoming part of the APPT is a great fit for both Crown Melbourne and Global Poker Tours Ltd. Linking one of the best tournaments in Asia Pacific with the region’s biggest poker tour benefits everyone. Personally, I can’t wait to be actively involved in one of the very top big buy-in events in the world,” APPT president Danny McDonagh explained.

The APPT began back in 2007 as the first poker tour in Asia. The tour is now in its seventh season with events spread all around the Asia and Pacific region, including the Philippines, South Korea, Macau, New Zealand and Australia.
