Aussie Millions Inks Sponsorship Deal with Betfair

Betfair has teamed up with the Aussie Millions and will be the presenting partner for the Australian live poker series scheduled to begin Jan. 17 in Melbourne.

The popular London betting exchange will brand its name on all the poker tables used in the 26 events. That includes the Main Event with a buy-in of AU $10,600, as well as the high-roller events that top out with an entry fee of $250,000.

“Betfair has changed the wagering landscape in Australia with its unique betting exchange offering, whilst the Aussie Millions has introduced an innovative tournament which has heightened interest in the game of poker,” Betfair Australia CEO Giles Thompson told eGaming Review. “We see this as an invaluable opportunity to engage Australians on the unparalleled benefits of exchange betting.”

Betfair had sponsored the World Series of Poker Europe prior to Barrière reaching a sponsorship agreement with Caesars Interactive Entertainment in 2011.
