Up and running in New Jersey for just a little over five weeks hasn’t deterred PokerStars NJ from making its inaugural NJSCOOP festival next month the regulated Garden State’s richest online poker series ever.

PokerStars New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker has guaranteed $1,100,000 in prize money over 54 tournaments taking place May 15-29. The 15 days of action will feature high and low buy-ins of the same 27 events.

The announced prize pool of NJSCOOP edges out last month’s Garden State Super Series IV hosted by Partypoker NJ and Borgata Poker. Prize money of GSSS IV was promoted as more than $1 million.

Come One, Come All ….. to NJ

Player with bankrolls of all sizes will find tournaments to their liking at NJSCOOP, including the High and Low Main Events that offer $200,000 and $30,000 in prize money, respectively. Low stakes players can buy-in to the ME for $50, while the high stakes version requires a $500 entry fee. Both Main Events are two-day tournaments.

Online qualifiers to the Main Events and other tournaments on the NJSCOOP schedule are already underway at PokerStarsNJ.com. Satellites start as low as $1.

In addition to No Limit Hold’em, NJSCOOP players can choose from Stud, 8-Game, Pot Limit Omaha, and PLO Hi/Lo. While selecting which tournaments to play, NJ players can also expect to be seated among some Team PokerStars Pros.

Moneymaker, et al.

“I can’t wait to play in the first NJSCOOP and I plan to stream most of my play live on Twitch,” said Chris Moneymaker. “It’s awesome that it’s coming to New Jersey so that players in the region can experience the exciting tournament structures and the thrill that comes with chasing a major tournament title and big prize money.”

Along with Moneymaker, Poker Hall of Famer Barry Greenstein and Twitch streamer extraordinaire Jason Somerville will likely take seats at any number of NJSCOOP events. All three PokerStars Team Pros are scheduled to attend a special day of events at Resorts Hotel & Casino on May 14, the day before the kick off of NJSCOOP. The celebration is to commemorate PokerStars’ arrival in New Jersey.

Additional NJSCOOP Prizes

While aiming for a share of that $1.1 million in prize money, NJSCOOP players will also be competing for more than $10,000 in additional cash bonuses. There is both a leaderboard race and a Player of the Series award. Points will be awarded for consistency in cashing and prizes distributed to the best among both high and low stakes players.

The winner of the overall leaderboard will claim a trophy, $2,000 in cash, and a ticket to a special live event. And also the dubious distinction of coming out on top in the first ever PokerStars NJSCOOP.

Players residing in or visiting New Jersey who have yet to play at PokerStars NJ are entitled to a 100% bonus up to $600 on their first deposit. That includes players who had a PokerStars account previously. A $100K Spin & Go Challenge Freeroll ticket is included in that bonus
