Tapie to create new, independent poker site?

Credit goes to Diamond Flush Poker news for reporting the latest piece of industry gossip coming from the Group Bernard Tapie camp.

Tapie attemps to hire key Full Tilt staff

In the latest twist, it appears Laurent Tapie has sent an E-mail out to 14 key employees of the new Full Tilt poker offering them their current salaries, bonuses and additional stock options in return for coming on board to help build and operate an entirely new online poker site that "will be the best of breed in 6-7 months".

Additionally, according to Tapie, the deal would include "An offer to former FTP ROW players that will allow them to recover their lost balances if they come to our new site, just as we had planned in our agreement with DOJ"

Affiliate plans

Tapie says " I am also negotiating with Poker Strategy to resurrect an affiliate arrangement similar to that which I was negotiating with FTP.

It's yet to be confirmed whether or not the E-mail / source reporting this news is legitimate, but if true the plans would only proceed if the right people decided to take the leap of faith with GBT. If that happened, it would surely go some way to ruffle the feathers of Pokerstars.
