News Bite: US Gov Waives Filing Time Limits for Swiss Accounts

The US government will “waive all filing time limits” on the claim of assets from bank accounts seized in Switzerland, according to a letter by US Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein.

Ranston, the Full Tilt-operated company that owns two of the four accounts, is in discussions with the US Attorney for the District of Maryland regarding a settlement—a potential indication that negotiations between the Tapies and the Department of Justice are progressing.

The case—United States of America v. Funds Contained in Four Accounts (Oldford Group et al)—was initially filed in October, 2009.

According to the letter,  PokerStars are “still engaged in litigation in Switzerland about the order freezing the [Oldford] account.”
