Group Bernard Tapie submitted an application for a Spanish licence just hours before the midnight deadline that passed a few days ago. EGR Magazine reported that Microgaming and Gtech are also understood to have handed in preliminary applications, just 24 hours before the same deadline.
It is believed that there have been between 30 and 35 companies applying for licenses. Interestingly this is lower than the number of applications received by the Danish regulating body earlier this year.
Spanish applicants will find out results as early as next week.
