The introduction of ‘iPoker 2’ was first thought to be a total division of the network that would see the larger mainstream brands completely split off from the rest of the network.
PokerUpdate can now reveal that is not the case. All cash game stakes at stakes of $3/6 and above will be shared across all skins on the network – good news for mid-stakes & high-stakes grinders. Additionally, the iPoker MTT schedule will be fully shared and the SnG schedule will be partially shared (we still don’t know to what extent).
This means the network will still technically remain as ‘one’, just that the larger skins (including those geared heavily toward sports-betting) will enjoy the more bountiful cash-game tables throughout the low and small stakes. This seems only fair as they are the ones bearing the financial burden of expensive main-stream marketing in an attempt to attract the recreational players to the network. It’s a move which I’m certain educated poker players will welcome, and should serve to drastically improve the quality of games over the coming months following the semi-split.
