Last Sunday, PokerStars broke its own record when 225,000 players competed in the world’s largest poker tournament. The event received accreditation from the good folks at Guinness World Records.
This Sunday, June 23, PokerStars is at it again with a first-ever Zoom Poker tournament that features a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million. Though representatives of Guinness aren’t expected to be on hand, the quick-paced action promises to be a delight for players favoring fast-fold poker and huge prize pools!
The buy-in for the Zoom Poker event is listed as $100 + $9. But there are a number of ways to grab a seat at a fraction of that price. Satellites and qualifiers ranging from $1 to $40 that include $27.50 SitNGos are running constantly at the world’s leading online poker site.
Sunday’s $1 million tourney is all part of the “Road to 100 Billion” promotion that PokerStars has been featuring this month to commemorate 100,000,000,000 hands dealt at the site since its September 2001 launch. A total of $5 million will have been given away to the site’s loyal players when all is said and done.
Some may find it fitting that a massive fast-fold Zoom Poker tourney will conclude the $5 million promotion giveaway. After all, PokerStars reached 100 billion hands in fast-action fashion of less than 12 years. That’s a record likely to remain intact for years to come.
