Pokerstars Week In Numbers: 19th – 26th August

A tournament series like no other, The World Championship of Online Poker features a huge guaranteed price pool across 66 events. Not only is there $40 million in guaranteed cash, but the winner of the main event itself will walk away with at least $1.25 million, a much coveted bracelet along with right call yourself a World Champion.

Throughout August Pokerstars has been running its VIP Club rewards program. As a player, you become a member of the VIP Club as soon as you start playing real money games at Pokerstars and move up the levels as you play.

There’s a total of $1 million worth of prizes on offer throughout the month, including cash and World Championship of Online Poker tickets, across five giveaway tournaments and you can take advantage of the many other advantages to boost your chances. Tom Alner and trophy dragon

That’s the prize pool of the Macau Poker Cup Red Dragon Event, which was the second largest ever held and resulted in UK player Tom Alner overcoming a field of 625 players to emerge victorious and walk away with HK $823,000 (US $106,000). 

It was an impressive victory for Tom, who took his career earnings to $734,709 with the victory and overcame a difficult Day 2 along the way, when he was at one point down to 8,000 chips and fighting off the challenge of an aggressive Brian Yip.

Sunday Millions

$166,948 (and 18¢)
Sunday Millions has proven to be extremely popular with players, and this weeks tournament was no different. With a prize pool of $1,491,600, 7,458 runners, 1,080 players winning cash and almost 12 hours play, it finally came down to a final table of nine players, with Swedish player smk2113 triumphing after a four way deal was done.

Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure 2014

10 FPP’s
That’s the number of Frequent Player Points (FPP) that could earn you qualification for one of the largest poker events of the 2014, Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure, and a package worth $15,460.

The event runs from 5th – 13th January 2014 at the Atlantis Resort in The Bahamas, and you can qualify via the Mega Path Satellites which are running now. You can buy-in directly at any round (so no need to start at the beginning), only costs you a few FPP’s and there are six Mega Path Finals, each with packages on offer, including hotel accommodation, expenses and, best of all, Main Event buy-in.
