As promised a couple of weeks ago, PokerStars has launched Zoom Poker tournaments.
On the first day of the new year, the world's leading poker site began beta testing the fast-fold variant at several micro-stakes MTTs. PokerStars plans to increase Zoom Poker tournament offerings at other stake levels following the developmental stage.
The fast-paced format made popular by Full Tilt's Rush Poker in 2010 allows players to immediately fold their cards without waiting for their turn to act. Upon folding, players are whisked to another table with different players and receive fresh hole cards. It allows for constant action and is popular among recreational players who don't like waiting, as well as pros who take advantage of grinding more hands each hour.
Players have been anticipating Zoom Poker tournament action since October, when the option was added to the format filter for PokerStars' MTTs.
