PokerStars $27 Million December Festival Starts Sunday

The holiday season is the time for giving and PokerStars is set to do just that in a December Festival that’s worth $27,000,000 to loyal players during the entire month.

It all begins on December 1 with Double Vision Sunday that will see the largest guaranteed tournaments running twice. The Sunday Million, Sunday Warm-Up, Sunday Kickoff and Sunday Storm will each be hosted two times so that players at the world’s top poker site can double their pleasure to begin the Christmas month. The eight tourneys guarantee $3.8 million combined.

From Dec. 2-8, a total of $500,000 in cash will be doled out to players in a Golden Sit & Go promotion that will award players up to five times their buy-in and also feature a prize pool multiplied by five. SNG tourneys will be chosen at random at the rate of every two minutes on average to be awarded a medal. The medals come in three sizes of Bronze, Silver and Gold.

Players at a SNG selected as Bronze will receive their buy-in back and will play for the prize pool for free. Silver SNG players are awarded three times their buy-in with the prize pool tripled. Gold medal SNGs feature a prize pool 5x that of the original amount and each player will be given 5x their buy-in as well.

On Dec. 8 and 15, tournament players are in for a treat with the Million Dollar Sundays promo. The guarantees for the Sunday Majors will be increased excessively, putting a combined $8 million in the prize pools of four events. The Sunday Million on Dec. 8 is jacked up from $1 million to $5 million, while the Sunday Warm-up on the same day will feature a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Both the Sunday Storm and Sunday 500 will have $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pools on the following Sunday, December 15. Don’t forget that the Sunday Storm buy-in is a mere $11 that affords a low-budget shot at the first place guaranteed prize of $150,000.

Mission Week kicks off on Dec. 9 that allows players to choose any one of five missions whose degree of difficulty is categorized as Very Easy, Easy, Simple, Possible and Advanced. Earn the VPPs designated for each mission during the week to gain entry into one of five Mission All-In Shootout freerolls on Dec. 16 that pay out a combined $500,000. Each player will be all-in on every hand in the freeroll tournaments.

Remember the milestone hands in PokerStars Road to 100 Billion that saw player traffic skyrocket? Another version of that will play out during the December Festival beginning at 00:00 ET on Dec. 16 where every millionth hand will be a winner. A total of 300 hands that end in ‘000,000’ will see $700,000 paid out to those playing on cash tables during the promotion, including $200,000 at the milestone 300th hand.

Need some extra Christmas cash? Then mark your calendar for Dec. 20-22 when the $10,000,000 WCOOP Challenge Series makes its debut. Eight tournaments are on the docket featuring $10 million in prize money. Buy-ins range from $109 to $2,100 for the $3 million guaranteed Main Event.

In addition to the prize pools, winners of each of the eight tourneys will be awarded a $5,200 entry to the 2014 WCOOP Main Event and a PokerStars commemorative money clip. Designed to keep your huge bankroll in place, the money clip will also certify your status as a winning PokerStars player.

Next month is shaping up to be a December to remember at PokerStars. The $27 million December Festival has something for everybody in that SNG, tournament, and cash game players will all be rewarded in some fashion during the month.
