News Bite: Tower Gaming Moving to Cake Poker

Tower Gaming will move from the Ongame network to Cake Poker on November 9. The decision comes after Malta-licensed Tower Gaming repeatedly ignored Ongame’s requests not to offer rakeback. Ongame’s controversial and confusing Essence system was launched in January, 2010.

Martin Lerby, head of marketing and operations at Ongame, told eGaming Review: “Ongame is a rakeback-free poker network with a focus on attracting recreational players. We have strict policies in place and we will terminate any operator who threatens to damage our poker ecology.”

Despite the move to a US friendly network, Tower Gaming will not accept US action. Players moving to Cake will receive 33% rakeback, in addition to access to standard Cake promotions such as Loyalty Levels and Gold Chips.
