Jake Cody Signs with Team PokerStars

Triple Crown Winner Jake Cody became the newest member of Team PokerStars when fellow team pro Daniel Negreanu introduced and welcomed him to the top online poker site’s roster just prior to the start of Day 1b of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event in the Bahamas.

“PokerStars always looks for young up-and-coming ambassadors for the game and I feel like we’ve found a gem,” Negreanu announced before cards were in the air on Tuesday. “He combines poker skill with a gentlemanly demeanour as is expected in a PokerStars Team Pro. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Jake Cody to the team.”

Cody’s resume includes major victories at the World Poker Tour, European Poker Tour and the World Series of Poker. His career earnings at live tournaments is over $3 million. Cody has also been successful online, taking home $235,000 by winning a $2,100 buy-in tourney at the 2011 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP).

“It probably sounds quite silly but [Team PokerStars Pro] is literally a dream come true,” Cody told the PokerStars blog. “I know it’s something that everyone says but it genuinely is. It’s something I’ve been working at for a while now. For it to actually happen… it’s awesome.”

Cody hails from the UK and was previously a sponsored pro at, but parted ways with that site in November. He joins fellow Team PokerStars pros Victoria Coren and Liv Boeree, who also call the UK their home.
