iGame, which owns and operates 24hPoker, NoiQ and Pokerihuone, has revealed to PokerUpdate that it will join the Microgaming network by the end of 2012. The news comes shortly after the company’s announcement to leave the IGT Poker network before its closure in December.
Microgaming finds itself well positioned to benefit from the iPoker split, and the addition of nearly 1 million players from iGame will only strengthen the network.
Microgaming is currently eighth in PokerScout’s cash game rankings. “Looking at the traffic still remaining on IGT, if all or most of that traffic were added to Microgaming’s total, they could easily move into fifth place,” Dan Stewart of PokerScout told PokerUpdate.
Tommi Maijala, Managing Director for iGame, told PokerUpdate: “We are thrilled to be joining the Microgaming Poker Network and securing for our players access to the highest quality poker software, good liquidity and a secure long‐term future. The experience of players is always our utmost priority, so joining the MPN is a very natural development for us. We have received excellent support from Microgaming and very much look forward to working with them into the future.”
