Hollywood Poker Shuts Down

Hollywood Poker, a skin on the Ongame Network that billed itself as the site “Where the Stars Come to Play,” has exited the stage and closed its virtual doors, transferring all its players to fellow Ongame site, RedKings.

Players attempting to access the Hollywood Poker website are met with this announcement: “HollywoodPoker has stopped offering online poker. So that you can continue playing we have arranged to transfer your account with your entire account balance to, a leading gaming site offering superb casino and poker games in a secure environment.”

Based in Malta and online since 2004, Hollywood Poker gave no reason for its abrupt closure. The site’s marketing strategy included endorsements by James Woods, three-time Emmy Award winner and twice nominated for an Academy Award. Woods won $40,000 in 2006, finishing in 24th place at the L.A. Poker Classic out of 692 entrants.

Former Hollywood Poker players will use their same passwords and screen names when playing at RedKings. Also, RedKings is greeting players from the shuttered site with a $500 welcome bonus.
