Full Tilt will launch casino-style games alongside its poker product. It marks a first foray for the parent Rational Group in to online casino, whose sole product has been poker thus far.
Eric Hollreiser, Head of Corporate Communications released the following statement to PokerUpdate,
“The Rational Group intends to expand our product offering to include casino style games on Full Tilt Poker. While adding new games, we remain committed to building our leadership in poker with PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker and continuing to deliver the highest quality poker experience to players.
These new games on Full Tilt will provide more gaming options with the same high quality player experience, integrity, security, safety and support that players have come to expect from our brands. PokerStars will continue to offer a Poker-only experience.
Online poker report broke the news that Full Tilt Poker would rebrand as “Full Tilt Gaming”. Clearly Rational Group have decided that the Full Tilt brand must diversify and differentiate if they want to thrive. It’s fair to say that despite gaining a strong level of liquidity since re-launch, Full Tilt Poker hasn’t been able to reach its traffic levels of pre-black Friday. Rational Group made the decision to effectively cannibalize Pokerstars traffic by sending players to Full Tilt – a move which many viewed as a desperate attempt to return the brand to its former glory.
Perhaps this bold move to add casino to its product will give the brand a better sense of direction in future. On a speculative note, the addition of an online casino offering would set up the brand nicely to establish a network.
