888 Poker has produced a beta version for its new mobile poker app for Android smartphones, according to eGaming Review.
The new feature is one of many improvements to the 888 network that will make it one of the most popular poker sites in the world when the US market reopens.
The 888 application cannot yet be highlighted in the Android marketplace. Android’s Market Developer Program Policies clearly states:
“We don’t allow content or services that facilitate online gambling, including but not limited to, online casinos, sports betting and lotteries.”
Despite this, Android users can acquire the beta-testing application by downloading it from the QR code posted on 888 Poker’s Google+ page.
So far, a lot of good news has come from 888. First came the introduction of the Poker 6 platform to update its software. 888 also introduced Webcam Tables, a unique feature in online poker that adds social interaction and a wealth of entertainment from bad beats.
Add to this the mobile poker application, allowing players to join the poker lobby from anywhere in the world with just a mobile device, and it is easy to see why 888 has become a popular poker site for the recreational player. As of right now, 888 Poker and the other sites sharing the network are fourth on PokerScout’s traffic rankings.
And it’s the sites sharing the network that brings intrigue to the future of 888. While there are a number of sites on the network that cover poker in Eastern Europe and Latin countries, 888 also has WSOP Poker as a partner. This includes an extended deal with Caesars Entertainment, which owns the World Series of Poker.
This gives 888 a head start into becoming a legalised poker network in the US, and could make it one of the most significant poker networks in the world.
