The 2015 WSOP Main Event final table will resume on Sunday, November 8 and players at WSOP.com in Nevada and New Jersey can have a stake in the outcome by playing their way into the Online Nine.
The new promotion at the premiere online poker site in both regulated states of New Jersey and Nevada allows players to compete in a special Online Nine tournament that kicks off on Saturday, November 7 at 4:00 p.m. The buy-in is $99.99 and features a guaranteed prize pool of $9,999. (That’s a lot of nines!) These are two separate events, one in each state.
While players who enter will of course be aiming for a shot at that prize money, there is an added bonus. The nine players who reach the final table will become the Online Nine and each will be assigned a seat mate that corresponds to one of the nine players of the November Nine at the WSOP Main Event.
Root for Your Mate!
That assignment is completely random and will permit the Online Nine to have a vested interest in the action at the November Nine final table. Why? Because if your seat mate happens to win the 2015 WSOP Main Event, WSOP.com will reward you with $1,000! That’s in addition to whatever amount is won at the Online Nine $9,999 guaranteed tournament.
How fun to be able to root for the likes of Neil Blumenfield, Max Steinberg, Joe McKeehen or Federico Butteroni to take down the WSOP Main Event title and put another $1K in your pocket! Those four, as well as Zvi Stern, Pierre Neuville, Joshua Beckley, Thomas Cannuli and Patrick Chan, will reconvene at 8:30 p.m. ET in the Penn & Teller Theatre at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on the 8th of November. A champion will emerge on Nov. 10.
Might that champion be your seat mate? Play in the Online Nine tournament the day before and it could happen!
Is that entry fee of $99.99 for the Online Nine event a bit too steep for your liking? Not to worry. Satellites are running at WSOP.com at this very moment starting as low as $9.99 (more nines again)!
Here are the seat assignments and chip counts of the November Nine:
1 Ofer Zvi Stern 29,800,000
2 Pierre Neuville 21,075,000
3 Josh Beckley 11,800,000
4 Max Steinberg 20,200,000
5 Thomas Cannuli 12,250,000
6 Joe McKeehen 63,100,000
7 Patrick Chan 6,225,000
8 Federico Butteroni 6,200,000
9 Neil Blumenfield 22,000,000
Who do you hope to draw as a seat mate? Joe McKeehen, the chip leader? Pierre Neuville, the old-timer at 72 years of age? How about an underdog like Patrick Chan who will be forced to find the best spot in which to shove his 16 big blinds into the middle of the table?
Can you make it into the Online Nine? Find out on November 7.
