The 46th annual World Series of Poker is a scant two months away and has prompted poker players to peruse this year’s schedule and map out which events of the 68 they will likely enter.

Players residing in or visiting Nevada will have an opportunity to participate in satellites and qualifiers at in order to win entry to a number of those tournaments at a small fraction of the buy-in. NV is in the midst of setting up a schedule of online qualifiers for some key tournaments that a lot of players have circled as must play events.

The Colossus, Millionaire Maker, Monster Stack, Seniors Championship and Ladies Championship will all feature qualifying tournaments shortly. has not yet posted a firm date on when the qualifying tourneys will commence, but has promised that the action is “coming soon.”

Breakdown of Events

The Colossus is set to begin on May 29 and is expected to break records for number of entries. With a $565 entry fee and $5 million guaranteed, WSOP organizers anticipate a massive turnout and early indications are that those projections will be on the money.

The Millionaire Maker, a $1,500 buy-in, is slated for June 5 and guarantees a million dollar first place prize. Last year’s champ, Jonathan Dimmig, took home $1,319,587. The runner-up was not far from also becoming a made millionaire, as Jeffrey Coburn’s prize was $815,963.

Also a $1,500 buy-in is the Monster Stack that kicks off on June 12 with runners grabbing a starting stack of 15,000 in chips. The Seniors Championship one week later on June 19 has added more chips to start this year as the AARP-eligible crowd will sit down with a stack of 5,000 after buying in for $1,000.

On June 26, the Ladies Championship kicks off. A $10,000 entry fee that allows the fairer sex to enjoy a 90% discount has been levied to dissuade men from entering the event. In other words, it’s a $1,000 buy-in for ladies.

Road to Main Event

A firm date has been revealed for players hoping to win their way into the $10,000 Main Event. A 25 Seat Scramble will take place on July 5, 2015 at and will award at least 25 players a seat to poker’s most celebrated annual tournament.

At a buy-in of only $200, the 25 Seat Scramble will likely be very popular among pros and amateurs in Nevada on the day after Independence Day. Satellites for the 25 Seat Scramble are running right now at for those who would like a shot at making it to the Main Event for even less than the $200 entry of the July 5 event.
