Ever on the lookout to attract recreational online poker players, Partypoker has announced the implementation of a new player loyalty program on March 1 that caters to the casual set.

Loyalty 2.0 is a retooled VIP program that makes life easier for players who aspire to climb the player loyalty levels while accumulating player points. The result is more bonus cash.

The online poker industry is in the midst of a trend that aims to reward non-pros to a greater extent, and Partypoker is arguably in the forefront of that trend. In September 2013, Partypoker rolled out a software update that highlighted missions, achievements and social interaction.

Such gamification efforts are seen as a main ingredient in driving casual players to the site. Other poker rooms have also employed goal-driven promotions in order to entice players who seem to enjoy achievements apart from scooping pots and winning money.

It’s All About the Points

Logging on at Partypoker puts all players on even terrain in the Bronze level of the VIP program. Previously, 400 points in a calendar month were required to achieve the next tier – Silver. Under Loyalty 2.0, only 50 points are needed to acquire Silver status.

The Gold level is reached by accruing 750 player points in a month, dropping 25% from the previous 1,000 points required. Players intent on attaining the Palladium tier need 2,000 monthly points, down from the 9,000 points required in three months time under the old loyalty scheme.

Although the new VIP program debuts next month, the points earned in February will determine the level at which Partypoker players will begin come March 1. To rephrase, the benefits of the higher tiers do not begin until March, but players can achieve the higher levels to start Loyalty 2.0 based on their February point totals.

Restocked Points Store and $500K Tourney

While the point requirements have been lowered, Partypoker also boasts of a points store that has better rewards at a lower cost. Some of those better rewards include using player points to obtain tickets to Weekly Loyalty Tourneys that are open only to players of the same level in the VIP program, as well as cashback valued at 22.22%.

The March 1 launch is being celebrated with a $500,000 GTD tournament. Seats to that huge event can be won via a Freeway to $500K promotion that is going on now. Another promo, Loyalty Launcher, runs from March 1-8 and allows players to accumulate player points at a higher percentage, thereby gaining additional bonus cash. Click here for details.

Partypoker NJ Players Not Left Out

While the new Loyalty 2.0 scheme is available to rest-of-world players come the 1st of March, New Jersey players at the Partypoker site restricted to the Garden State can also take advantage of many promotions as well.

Chief among those is a generous Welcome Bonus for first-time depositors of 100% up to $1,000. That’s a grand in bonus cash there for the taking.

In addition, just creating an account at Partypoker NJ with your name, birth date and social security number is good for a $25 bonus – free! That bonus cash is yours to spend by trying out the different games available at Partypoker NJ. Try $10 at the cash tables, $10 at the casino games, and the other $5 at Big Money Tournaments.
