The regulator for the new Spanish licences has given pre-approvals to over eighty percent of the applicants, according to eGaming Review.
Over 40 applicants hoping to operate in the Spanish market received notification by the regulator that their applications so far meet standards. The issuing of licences will begin after final approval has been completed. It is expected for regulators to contact the parties accepted, 15 days before licences are awarded.
Previously, PokerUpdate reported on the Microgaming network still accepting Spanish traffic on skins awaiting approval for licencing. International gaming companies in this situation can turn off .com sites and switch to the .es domain immediately after acceptance.
