Spain’s Casino Gran Madrid launched its Playtech-powered gaming platform yesterday, providing online casino games to residents of Madrid.
Representatives of Casino Gran Madrid revealed that the platform, which launched with a dozen casino games, will have nearly 100 games by 2012. Poker will not be rolled out until a national license is awarded next year.
Casino Gran Madrid received approval to become Spain’s first online gaming operator on May 25. The brick-and-mortar casino is licensed for poker, blackjack, roulette and slots. CGM will only take action from residents of Madrid (18+).
Analysts project that by 2014 Madrid’s online gambling market will be worth €80 million; by the same year, the national market will be worth over €300 million, according to estimates.
