Nevada Adopts Online Poker Bill

Bill 258, which gives the Nevada Gaming Commission authority to regulate internet poker, passed through the Nevada legislature and was signed into law by Governor Brian Sandoval late last week.

The purpose of the bill is to put Nevada in a position to regulate online poker once the federal government passes legislation on the matter or the Justice Department determines that interactive gambling is legal.

Multiple bills are pending in Washington, D.C. regarding internet poker, and if anything is passed, the Nevada Gaming Commission could issue licenses for casinos to start online gaming platforms.
