Delaware Selects SciGames, 888, and WMS for Online Gaming Contract

After months of reviewing, the Delaware Lottery has chosen a joint venture by 888 Holdings, Scientific games, and Williams Interactive to provide online gambling software and services to the state.

The announcement ends a long application process that saw dozens of operators apply to win the bid to provide online gaming products to the newly legislated state. The applicants for this lucrative contract included industry giants PokerStars, IGT, Stan James, and SHFL Entertainment.

Scientific Games is currently the supplier of Delaware Lottery Products and partnered with companies who specialized in different online gaming products. WMS owned Williams Interactive specializes in providing casino platform and support services like geolocation and e-wallets. The gaming software company also plans to offer a poker product through its partnership with 888 Holdings, which allows WMS to offer 888 online poker products to land based casinos. The partnership between the three companies was solidified in February to make a joint bid for the Delaware Lottery contract.

888 Poker has already secured a license and a partner in Nevada where it will be opening a site for the upcoming All American Poker Network, which has been incorporated in Delaware. It has been the most active European operator in the United States and its products are due to debut in the upcoming months.

In addition to the development of the new market, the Delaware Lottery has been developing ideas for potential compacts with state and international jurisdictions. Delaware is currently the smallest market in the United States and would most likely need a compact to maintain strong liquidity.
