Mobile Gambling Outpaces Desktop Use

Recent research indicates that online gamblers are using mobile gambling devices with greater frequency than the traditional desktops and laptops.

With the continuing advancements of technology allowing for gambling on the go to be more accessible, 51% of punters are now placing online poker and gambling wagers via mobile devices, Casino Choice reported. The study was conducted by Kantar Sport GB Syndicated Online Gambling Research.

The results tabulated by Kantar show that just one year ago at this time, desktops and laptops were used for online gambling wagers 67% of the time. In just 12 months, online punters who prefer betting the “old-fashioned” way are now in the minority at 49%.

Bettors who use only smartphones jumped to 15% from 7% a year ago. Industry experts believe that smartphone and mobile wagering will continue to rise steadily in the future.
