Who is the greatest poker player in history? While poker fans will present various arguments for their favorite poker pro, one cannot overlook the amount of money earned by pros throughout their poker careers. The old saying goes that money is only a way of keeping score in poker and some players have racked up some impressive totals.

Negreanu, Colman and Seidel Top Live Poker’s All-Time Money List

Looking at poker’s All-Time Money List, you will see a virtual who’s who of the poker world. In recent year, high roller and super high roller events have driven up prize pools among elite players. Some believed that the money list would become populated with “one-hit wonders” such as Jamie Gold but the game’s elite have stepped up and shown why they are the best poker players in the world.

Daniel Negreanu is presently poker’s All-Time money winner with over $32 million and one of the most watched poker players. Right behind him is Erik Seidel who cracked $30 million in earnings in 2016. He has been a beast in recent years, dominating the high roller circuit and is a threat to make a final table in each event he plays.

Dan Colman has recently vaulted into the #3 spot over Antonio Esfandiari. Colman defeated Negreanu for the 2014 $1 Million Big One for ONE DROP title and proceeded to win a record $22.38 million in live tournaments in 2014. He has consisted to score big in High Roller tournaments and is expected to join Negreanu and Seidel as a $30 million lifetime winner within the next couple of years.

Selbst and Liebert Top Women’s All-Time Money List

The Poker Boom brought both an explosion in the popularity of poker and the integration of women into the game. The few female pros that frequented the circuit prior to the Boom became superstars after and helped usher in a new era for the game.

There are presently 28 women with lifetime tournament earnings exceeding $1 million. The top 10 of the Women’s All-Time Money list is a solid mix of old school female pros and modern day superstars that have reaped the benefits of the monster prize pools of the modern era.

Leading all women is Vanessa Selbst. In just over a decade, she has risen to the top spot with over $11.84 million in earnings. Kathy Liebert was the women’s former #1 player, currently with over $6.09 million in lifetime earnings. Liebert and Selbst are the only females in history to earn over $6 million.

Other women on the all-time money list include future Poker Hall of Famer Jennifer Harman and inaugural WSOP-E Main Event Champion Annette Obrestad. Below are the top 10 spots on the Women’s All-Time Money List:

Antonius, Ivey and Cates Among Top Online Poker Players

Since the beginning of the poker boom, many poker players have earned their education through the online poker ranks. There have been many contenders over the years but the best online poker players happen to also be among the top ranked poker pros in the live arena.

Patrik Antonius is currently online poker’s all-time money leader with over $17 million in earnings. Over $11 million of those came while he served as a Full Tilt Poker pro. When the site relaunched after PokerStars purchased the company, Antonius returned as FinddaGrind. Since returning, he has amassed over $5.7 million in earnings. This actually ranks him second and sixth all-time on the Full Tilt Poker All-Time Money List.

Phil Ivey is no longer #2 all-time in career earnings. He’s not even #3 now. Both Daniel Cates and Ben Tollerene have leapfrogged over Ivey. Tollerene, who plays as Ben86 on PokerStars has combined online earnings of over $11.42 million. Most of those earnings came on Full Tilt Poker where he earned almost $7.5 million.

Daniel Cates is presently #3 overall. His lifetime earnings as jungleman12 and w00ki3z are now $11.17 million. Ivey finished 2015 at online poker’s biggest loser, dropping him to #3 all-time with $10.44 million earned.
