Nosebleeds Report: Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond back at the top of the leaderboard

Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond is back, but he’s not playing the games that made him notorious, like No-Limit Hold’em or Pot-Limit Omaha.

Last week, Galfond sat at the 2-7 Triple Draw tables and didn’t look back. On Monday, OMGClayAiken spent four and a half hours battling with the best of the best: Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, Niklas “ragen70” Heinecker and German unknown “kagome kagome.” The result? A solid profit of $288k!

G-Bucks is no stranger to the 2-7TD poker game. According to HighStakesDB, he played 329 sessions and over 47k hands just at the Draw tables alone in 2013 and cashed in for a cool profit of $2,357,958. Overall, he is up almost $1 million on Full Tilt. He won 184k between November 16 and 23, 2013.

The biggest winner from last week, however, is no other than ragen70, who continues to dominate the 2-7TD tables. He played 23 sessions and won almost $500k in the last 8 days. He took $102k in just 37 minutes from Blom’s bankroll on Tuesday after enjoying a big Monday when he cashed in a $261k profit.

The biggest winner on PokerStars was Russian pro Alexander “joiso” Kostritsyn. He played mostly PLO and won over $158k. The Russian also plays on Full Tilt under the nickname “PostflopAction” and he often sits at the mixed-game tables. He had a major winning session against Blom, cashing in $115k in under half an hour on November 17. This weekend though, Kostritsyn tried his luck at 2-7TD and ended up winning $184k.

The NLHE tables were all about the “Denoking” and “bbvisbadforme” challenge, who continue to battle at the $200/$400 tables. The pair had a big session on Tuesday with $200k+ pots flying all over the place. In one of them, bbvisbadforme four-bet pre-flop and called a donk bet on the flop. Denoking continued his aggression on the turn and his opponent smooth-called. The river brought a shove from bbvisbadforme after Denoking had checked. Denoking tried to bluff-catch only to see that villain in fact thin-value bet with third pair.

The biggest loser of last week is Blom, who continues to run bad in November. Although he had a solid Thursday winning $177k, Isildur1 finished the last 8 days in the red with -$263,720. He is down $1,357,892 this month, threatening Gus Hansen’s top spot in the biggest losers’ leaderboard. Hansen lost “just” $152k between November 16 and 23, 2013. He had two straight days with winning records. The Dane ran pretty well at the limit tables on Wednesday, cashing in a $237k profit while playing 2-7TD and Fixed Limit Omaha 8-or-Better. He did the same thing on Thursday, playing only limit games and winning $136k.
