Viktor Blom just can’t get enough of poker. Whether it’s night or day, European Time or Pacific Time, No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha, 2-7 Triple Draw or Mixed Games, “Isildur1” is up and ready to play…no matter the opponent.
According to HighStakesDB, Blom played a staggering 568 sessions this month and over 49,000 hands on Full Tilt Poker. During this time he won $3,489,815, including over $1.85 million in the last five days. Most of his earnings came from the 2-7 TD and PLO tables. “Isildur1” is on a true heater when it comes to 2-7 Triple Draw: he won $2.86 million in just 6,767 hands, although he had some noteworthy opponents like Gus Hansen, unknown German NLHE expert “kagome kagome,” Alexander “PostflopAction” Kostritsyn and Patrik “FinddaGrind” Antonius. The same can be said with PLO – $1.2 Million won in over 8k hands.
At NLHE however, the Swede doesn’t share the same amount of success. As a matter of fact, he is a slight loser at the NLHE tables with -$166,384. Almost half of the total hands played this month were No-Limit, but you have to give Blom some credit as he battled with the best of the best, especially Heads-Up. In a Thursday session, Alexander “IReadyYrSoul” Millar took over $600k from the Swedish pro in only three and a half hours. Yesterday, “Isildur1” took on David “WCGRider” Polk in a spectacular Heads-Up match that produced the biggest single pot of the month. After a three-bet and a continuation bet by “WCGRider,” Blom decided to play his open-ender aggressively and raised the cbet, bet half the pot on the turn, and shoved the river unimproved as a pure bluff, only to get called by Polk’s bullets. With that hero call, “WCGRider” won $467,000 in just one hand.
Both Millar and Polk benefited from those winnings; “IReadYrSoul” is second in the October Biggest Online Cash Winners Leaderboard with over $1 million, while “WCGRider” is third with $348,427. The two only played NLHE on Full Tilt.
The biggest online cash poker winner from Pokerstars is the unknown player “JayP-AA,” followed by the American pro Ben “Ben86” Tollerene. “JayP-AA” is also first in hands played at the highest stakes on PokerStars, but still far behind Blom, with 11,775 hands and 144 sessions. He won $215,575 mainly from playing PLO. “Ben86” won $169,814 thanks to a session played with Swedish pro “wilhasha.” The duo played for three hours, with Tollerene earning over $268k. But things aren’t going that well for the American as he lost over $440k on Full Tilt this month.
The biggest loser in October… well, you guessed it right, is once again Danish pro Gus Hansen. He played 13,768 hands in 25 days and lost $1,111,652. He leaked most of the money at Fixed-Limit Omaha 8-or-Better and 2-7 TD. Overall, since he started playing on Full Tilt, Hansen lost over $11.6 million. The next big loser of the month is the German “Sanlker,” who lost $920k. He played mostly HU NLHE with action-seeker “Isildur1,” “Denoking” and Tollerene. He also played a decent amount of hands in October: over 15k in 146 sessions.
Third in the loser leaderboard is another unknown player who is registered in China, probably Macau, and plays under the name “samrostan.” He leaked over $630k in the tenth month of 2013.
