2014 WSOP Main Event Airs on ESPN Sunday, Sept. 28

The television broadcast of the 2014 WSOP Main Event begins airing Sunday, Sept. 28 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Two episodes, each one hour in length, will be shown on seven consecutive Sundays beginning tomorrow and running through Nov. 9. The conclusion of the Sunday evening broadcasts will be followed by live final table action that kicks off the very next day on Monday, Nov. 10.

This year’s Main Event began on July 5 with a field of 6,683 and ended with nine finalists remaining on July 14. Those nine will have had four months to fine-tune their game during the hiatus before play resumes.

The 2014 Main Event winner is guaranteed $10 million, which will be the second largest Main Event first place prize in WSOP history. Jamie Gold’s victory in 2006 that brought $12 million in riches remains the top winner’s prize to date.

This is the 10th year that the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada has hosted the WSOP. The amount of $10 million to the victor commemorates that milestone.
