“What a fish!”
We’ve all been there.
“It was a fold. What was he doing? Is he crazy? How do these people win anything? Why don’t I ever get that much luck?”
We sit in the comfort of our armchairs, sucking Starbucks through a straw, picking our toenails; throwing the remnants at the TV screen, as the very best poker players in the world do everything other than what we think they should.
“They can’t hear you!” Screams the wife.
You know. Of course you know. But it doesn’t change a thing.
“What a fish!”
PokerStars’ Eighth App Innovates
Rational Social Projects Limited, the app developing arm of the world’s largest online poker room, PokerStars, want to get you involved. They have launched their eighth app to date, and this is one of the most innovate.
TV Poker Play Along PokerStars is a live quiz game designed for both the iPad and iPhone. It can be downloaded from both the iTunes App Store and the Google Play store for Android users. You don’t have to spend a penny to use it, and you won’t want to spend a penny when you do. The only caveats are that you have iOS 6.0 or later and are 17-years old. Other than that you are free to get involved with the very best poker players on the planet.
The concept behind the new app is genius. Apple users can download the app by clicking on this link, and Android users can do likewise by applying a little pressure here. Once downloaded the app syncs seamlessly with your TV viewing of a PokerStars event, using audio prompts to tell you when you can get involved in the action.
Making Poker TV Interactive
The app works by pausing the action seconds prior to the actual decision being made on the felt. You then get three different choices on your screen. What do you think will happen next? Will the player fold? Will they call? Will they raise? Instead of bellowing at a TV screen, and irritating the hell out of the other half, you make a choice on your screen, and prove your superiority to the world…or not.
Once you are in sync with a TV show, you can connect with other users on Facebook, and compete against them. You also win points for every successful question answered correctly, and gain the opportunity to win real money cash prizes, and invites to a special weekly free roll event.
The app tells you when the next event is about to begin. Currently the next action takes place on Wed 22 April, when we see the UK legend Willie Tann square off against the PokerStars Team Pro Jake Cody, in Program Three of the EPT11 London Main Event.
If you are not online when the live action commences, then don’t worry. You are still able to play along with previous shows on 4OD, YouTube or PokerStars TV.
