IGT Buys Entraction for $115 Million

International Gaming Technology describes itself as “the leading company specializing in design, development, manufacturing, distribution, and sales of computerized gaming equipment, software, and network systems worldwide.”

Although that’s a bit of a mouthful, they certainly back up their words with action. IGT recently announced plans to expand in the online poker industry by purchasing Entraction Holding AB of Stockholm, Sweden, for about $115 million.

IGT CEO Patti Hart hopes the recent acquisition will help their global partners drive further value.

The Entraction network has a bright future and is maturing into one of the industry’s leading poker platforms after the migration of VCPoker in December, 2010.
