Fertitta Interactive, owners of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and Station Casinos in Las Vegas, have announced the launching of a new online gaming website called Ultimate Gaming that will begin as a free-play site and eventually will enter the real money gambling realm once regulated online gambling is offered in the United States.
Beginning with Ultimate Poker that will be available as free social gaming this week on Facebook, the company plans to market its brand of Ultimate Gaming through broadcasts of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, which reaches up to 1 billion households in more than 145 countries throughout the globe, the Las Vegas Sun reported.
Fans of UFC events are also heavily into online gaming, according to demographic research. With 2.4 million followers on Twitter and eight million strong on Facebook, the UFC’s appeal will be employed in a crossover marketing strategy going forward with real money online wagering on poker and casino games.
“With our unique ability to leverage the overlapping demographics between online gaming, traditional gaming and the worldwide sports and entertainment brand of the UFC, Ultimate Gaming is ideally positioned to rapidly capture a significant following in the United States and throughout the globe,” said Tom Breitling, Chairman of Fertitta Interactive.
Fertitta Interactive was formed in 2010 by brothers Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta. The company purchased CyberArts last year, a game-developing company, and is one of over 30 entities that have applied for licensing to provide online poker in Nevada.
