The European Poker Tour (EPT) and Duracell have agreed on a deal that will bring wireless charging to custom made EPT tables in time for Season 10 of the tour, PokerStars announced on Thursday. This partnership will allow PokerStars to continue to offer one of the best player experiences in the world at the EPT which already offers free Wi-Fi to players. This also has a chance to be a benefit for Duracell as they will be branching out into Europe in a big way and will be putting their name on yet another activity that is enjoyed by the masses.
Each space for players will offer a drink-holder along with the Duracell Powermat which can be used by players who already have the special Duracell case, but those who do not shouldn’t be worried that they will not get to enjoy the experience. If you do not already have the case you will be able to get one at the event which will allow you to easily take advantage of this unique offer. Duracell is also going to provide a gift for everyone who qualifies for the EPT Main Event in April.
This unique partnership is a huge move for PokerStars who is looking to expand out of the standard business dealings that poker sites are associated with. If you combine this with the numerous athletic player signings of the past couple of years then it’s clear that PokerStars wants to move into a more corporate world that resonates with recreational players more. If this agreement is the first step into even more agreements with established American companies then it’s a very intelligent deal for PokerStars.
