About Full Tilt Poker
Full Tilt Poker is one of the oldest names in online poker. For years, they were the #2 online poker site behind PokerStars but events surrounding Black Friday effectively put them out of business.
PokerStars later stepped in and purchased Full Tilt Poker and repaid close to $400 million to players worldwide. The site was later revamped and launched under the Amaya umbrella following their purchase of PokerStars.
Following the relaunch, Full Tilt became an alternative site to those wanting something different from PokerStars, but players didn’t return to the site en mass. The site has steadily slid down the poker room rankings over at PokerScout.com and is presently the 12th largest poker room in the world.
Due to recent slides in traffic, Amaya has decided that they will combine the player pools of both Full Tilt and PokerStars. This will benefit both sites as it gives Full Tilt players a whole world of new players to compete against and PokerStars benefits from increased liquidity from Full Tilt.
The good news is that PokerStars will continue to focus on a dual-brand strategy, which means that Full Tilt will continue to be separate from PokerStars despite sharing player pools. This effectively makes Full Tilt a skin of the PokerStars network, complete with their own games and promotions.
There will be a few changes, especially with rewards. Players will now enjoy the benefits from the PokerStars VIP system. They will also be able to use a single login to access both sites.

Full Tilt Poker Software
Full Tilt’s poker client is among the best in the industry and has gotten stronger after the company was purchased by PokerStars. In fact, for years Full Tilt was regularly competing with PokerStars for the role of top innovator in online poker.
Do you play Zoom Poker on PokerStars? That started as Rush Poker on Full Tilt Poker. Are you an aficionado of mixed poker games? Full Tilt Poker’s regular introduction of other poker variants on their client helped influence live casinos, especially the World Series of Poker, to expand their offerings.
After downloading and installing the Full Tilt client, you will be greeted with a client that perfected the tab based interface. Everything you need to access your favorite game is available in just a couple of clicks.
The design of the client is genius with controls setup perfectly for optimal game play. You also have dozens of customizable features, including the famous Full Tilt Poker avatar. These caricatures make game play fun as you can regularly rotate them and even change their “mood” to suit your own or throw off your opponents.
If you’re looking for a mobile poker app, then try out the Full Tilt app. It is available on both iOS and Android devices and offers many of the same features that you will find on the standard Full Tilt PC client. The app was named “Best Poker App” at the IGA Gaming App Awards 2014, proving that the new Full Tilt is still an innovator in the online poker industry.
Full Tilt Poker Promotions & Games
Full Tilt Poker still offers a solid spread of online cash games in several variants of online poker. In recent months, the company has begun to move away from certain mixed poker variants, but you can still find plenty of action in Texas Hold’em, Omaha and Stud variants.
For those of you still deciding on whether to play on Full Tilt, now is a great time. New players that make their first deposit on Full Tilt Poker will receive a 100% First Deposit Bonus. This bonus will match your deposit dollar-for-dollar up to $600.
This deposit is a clearable bonus released in increments of $20 or 5%, whichever is smaller. You can clear your bonus by playing real money online poker cash games or tournaments at Full Tilt. Please note that you have 60 days from when you make your deposit to clear your bonus.
Full Tilt also offers a variety of freeroll poker tournaments to give you a chance to build a bankroll from nothing. The $1,000 Depositor’s Freeroll is available to those who made a deposit in the last 7 days. There are also $200 freerolls that kick off twice daily at 14:40 ET and 19:40 ET. These $200 freerolls don’t come with any requirements to play.
If you have played real-money cash games or tournaments in the last seven days, you can also access Jackpot Sit & Go freerolls. These allow you to win up to $100 just by defeating two players. You can only play one of these a day but they are definitely worth trying out.
Full Tilt Poker Rewards & Loyalty Programs
Following the merger of Full Tilt and PokerStars player pools, Full Tilt Poker players will be rewarded by the PokerStars VIP Program. The VIP Program allows you to earn StarsCoin that can be used to make purchases in the PokerStars VIP Store.
As you play real money cash games or poker tournaments, you earn VIP Player Points, or VPP’s. As you continue to earn VPP’s, you unlock certain steps at each VIP Status Tier. When you unlock a step, you receive a set number of StarsCoin.
For example, when you earn 5 VPP’s, you unlock BronzeStar Step 1 and receive 7 StarsCoin. Earn 5 more VPP’s and unlock Step 2 for an additional 7 StarsCoin. After you complete 20 steps at BronzeStar, you move up to ChromeStar and the number of StarsCoin you can unlock increases. There are seven level of VIP Status, including the coveted SuperNova status. The more you play, the more you can earn.
When you are ready to spend your StarsCoin, you can head over to the PokerStars VIP Store to make your purchase. There are a myriad of prizes available at the VIP Store including electronics, tournament entries, clothing and VIP cash rebates.
The VIP Program is available to all poker players and you start earning points with the first real money online poker game you play. Please note that VPP’s are only earned at lower and middle stake games. For those that like to play $5/$10 or higher in NL or $20/$40 and higher in mixed games, you will not be able to earn VPP’s.
Full Tilt Poker Deposit & Withdrawal Options
One great thing about the merger of Full Tilt with PokerStars is that you will have access to all the same deposit options as the world’s largest online poker room. Below are a few options you will have for deposits:
- Instant E-Checks
- Credit Cards
When you are ready to make a withdrawal, you can use many of the same options to do so. In addition, you can request either a bank wire or a check by mail for your funds.
Other options may be available depending on where you’re physically located. Just head to the cashier in the Full Tilt client to see what options are available.
Tournaments at Full Tilt Poker
Once the merger is completed, tournaments on Full Tilt Poker will primarily be the same as those that you find on PokerStars. In essence, Full Tilt is a skin of the PokerStars network.
In a way, that is actually great news for Full Tilt players as you will now have access to the largest online poker tournament guarantees in the industry. Some of the tournaments that you will be able to play in include Super Tuesday, Sunday Storm, the Hot Turbos and even the Sunday Million.
Let’s not forget that PokerStars is home to several COOP tournaments, including the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) and the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP). These are the most lucrative online poker tournaments in the world.
Full Tilt players will also be able to access Spin & Go tournaments. With Spin & Go’s, you can win up to 1,000 times your buy-in after defeating just two players. Some of these events award up to $1 million to the winner.
Amaya promises some Full Tilt themed events and promotions as well but players can primarily expect to play on PokerStars events skinned as Full Tilt. To learn more about what tournaments will be available, login to the client and click on the tournaments tab.
If there is one thing you’ve learned in this Full Tilt review, it is that the site is in a period of change. Change is inevitable in life, but more so in the online poker industry. After the events of Black Friday, it was going to be tough for the site to rebound but it is fortunate that they were purchased by PokerStars. This at least gave them the chance to make a comeback.
It would have been great to say that Full Tilt made a rebound akin to those of 888 Poker or PartyPoker but the reality is that many players decided to stick with their new online poker homes after Black Friday. The majority of high stakes poker games moved over to PokerStars and Full Tilt became a secondary network despite Amaya’s best efforts.
Luckily, Full Tilt will live on but as part of the PokerStars network. The site will benefit tremendously from the liquidity of PokerStars and Full Tilt players will enjoy a generous spread of games.
The question now is whether Full Tilt will stay as a part of PokerStars or eventually be retired altogether. According to Amaya, they have no plans of selling Full Tilt Poker, so this is good news for those that like the look and feel of the site.
If you are a player on PokerStars, you account will soon work on Full Tilt Poker with no action required form you. For those that have never played on PokerStars but want to play on Full Tilt, this is a great time to do so. Signup today and get a 100% match to $600 on your first deposit.
Change is on the horizon for Full Tilt and you can be part of that change. Signup today and enjoy the benefits coming after the merger with PokerStars.
