Only one 90-minute episode remains for this season of Big Brother. Following Sunday night’s CBS telecast, we know that the Final 3 Head of Household (HOH) competition will be awarded to either Vanessa Rousso or Steve Moses.
At this point, both houseguests plan to eliminate the other and take identical twin Liz Nolan to the September 23 finale. However, a Rousso-Moses finale is still possible if the Final 3 HOH victor decides to evict Liz.
Sunday night’s CBS show was more of a “recap” episode that competed directly against Sunday Night Football, the Emmy Awards, and a prime time Sunday Night Baseball game between the New York Yankees and New York Mets.
Final 3 Head of Household Competition
Everything rides on the final HOH competition. Big Brother Live Feeds have revealed that Vanessa won Part 1 of the challenge, while Steve bested LIz in Part 2. This means that Part 3 will pit both the Las Vegas poker player and New York college student against each other to see who comes out on top.
Whoever wins the Final 3 HOH will decide which of the other two houseguests goes home and which one stays for the finale.
Although Liz is seemingly in a vulnerable position (she will be nominated regardless of who wins), both Rousso and Moses are set on eliminating one another and chancing a Jury vote against her rather than each other.
Big Brother 17 Finale
The Big Brother 17 Finale will air on CBS Wednesday, September 23, at 9:30pm ET. A lot will be crammed into the 90-minute show, which will in essence be Episode #40. It will air after the premier of Survivor: Cambodia.
Wednesday’s telecast will show everything from the Final 3 HOH winner to showing the eventual champion.
Jury Vote Will Decide Who Wins Big Brother 17
Regardless of who winds up in the Big Brother Finale, the champion will ultimately decided by nine Jury members made up of the most recent evictions of this season.
The Jury currently consists of: Shelli Poole, Jackie Ibarra, Becky Burgess, Meg Maley, James Huling, Julia Nolan, Austin Matelson, and John McGuire. Whoever is eliminated in third place will join the Jury.
A minimum of five Jury votes will be required to win Big Brother 17.
Liz Nolan, if she does indeed make the finale, is guaranteed two of those votes from her identical twin Julia and boyfriend Austin. However, both Rousso and Moses believe she is unlikely to earn the five votes needed to secure a victory and $500,000 cash prize in the finale.
Vote Now for America’s Favorite Player
Besides a $50,000 payout to the eventual second place finisher, Big Brother will award an additional $25,000 to this season’s fan favorite. There are two “frontrunners” for this year’s AFP: John McGuire and James Huling.
Audrey Middleton, Vanessa Rousso and Jason Roy all appear to have an outside chance at winning the Big Brother AFP. The America’s Favorite Player Poll is currently open on the CBS official website.
Up to 20 votes can be cast per day, but the polling ends Monday, September 21, at 1:00pm Eastern Time.
Nearly 100 Days in the Big Brother Compound
Both Vanessa and Steve have officially spent more than three months in the Big Brother house. Liz has spent slightly less time within the compound because she was switching out with her twin Julia for the first six weeks.
Watch the Big Brother 17 Finale Wednesday, September 23, at 9:30pm Eastern Time on CBS.
